Charged a disabled woman with 2 kids £720 for 2 hours advice. Spoke to her for 45 minutes, hung up and then refused to act for her, pocketing the cash. Not good.
I recently worked with Emily B and her team at Quality Solicitors Parkinson Wright, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. Emily was always responsive, kept me regularly updated, and explained everything clearly. I’d heard plenty of horror stories about the stress of buying a house, but she and her team made the whole process seamless and easy to understand. They were also really well-prepared for any absences, when team members were out of office, Mia stepped in and picked up my case without any disruption. I’m really grateful for their professionalism and support, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Paula Amer acted for me in the sale of our house just before the stamp duty deadline. They were firm and professional. I felt they looked after my interests in an atmosphere of strong commercial pressure. Everything was completed with time to spare! So yeah, thanks and well done.
Our experience with the Droitwich branch was pretty awful. Granted this was 2021, and a lot of people were moving, but I really do feel that I was overly patient. The solicitors were pleasant enough but never really seemed to know what was going on, and unbelievably slow. The chain collapsed on the day of moving, due to a pedant further up the chain, with us and all our furniture outside the house we were buying, because they insisted on waiting until the last minute to exchange contracts. We were thus advised that there was no legal recourse for the upheaval, even though we had to put our belongings in storage, and were even told that the presence of the removal van was intimidating the homeowner, who they seemed, quite bizarrely, to have a lot of empathy with, explaining to me at great length about this poor person and their woes, that seemed no worse than ours, even though it was US paying their fee. Luckily, the homeowner appeared to take pity and allowed us to move into the house a day later. ( It transpired however that this was likely because they knew a thunderstorm was coming, and that there was a serious problem with the guttering....).Why leave a review so late after the event? Well, I'm about to move again, and I'm being a little more choosy with conveyancing this time.
Couldn’t have had a worst service; solicitor only worked 3 days a week and then a few weeks before sale exchange the solicitor suddenly ‘took early retirement‘!! The back and forth between the other parties solicitors was painful as they had organised the queries, but this organisation didn’t, no summary form for tracking the queries. They also had a Septic Tank Questionnaire and a Solar Panel PV Questionnaire, but no Air Source Heat Pump Questionnaire, which we now know they should have had… as they hadn’t serviced it for over a year and it broke down within 5 months of moving into the property but faulty from day 1. I had to chase every question and query that was raised e.g. I had to speak to the Council Tax Department, they didn’t do any chasing up of queries. They are slow to get back to you, when asked what their standard response time to emails was, they told me within 10 working days. Horror… I want response within 1 working day! They were busy and shouldn’t have taken on all the work they had. Granted they ‘lost’ a solicitor mid way through a busy period but really they didn’t seem to care about their slow service.
