Disappointing

Unfortunately there were quite a few mistakes and miscommunication which led to a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. This culminated on our moving day when the solicitors lost our balance of £280k and we had to wait over 3 hours with distressed animals for them to acknowledge they had been looking on the wrong screen.

Mistakes made

Whilst they did a great job on the purchase the post completion team are undertrained and have little to no supervision. This resulted in significant errors being made post completion.

Excellent Team – Professional and Competent Annari, Gabrielle, and the team handled our case exceptionally well. Any issues were swiftly brought to our attention, giving us enough time to rectify them without added pressure. I was a co-executor of my parents Will dealing with the Private Wealth & Inheritance department. As a former Chartered Surveyor used to dealing with Solicitors, I found virtually all staff arrogant and contemptuous with overly intense fee charging plus the service provided was extremely poor, this firm should come with a Serious Health Warning. I would award zero stars if this were possible. None of the standard descriptions of this firm apply.

Really knowledgeable and calm - professional and warm.

Harrington Carmichael were offered to me as a recommended solicitor, I thought this might mean that it was because the developer I was buying from would get some sort of financial kickback in fact, this was not the case and the recommendation came from the quality of their service and the reasonable price. Throughout the whole process everybody I dealt with was professional calm and knowledgeable putting me at complete ease. For this review, I wanted specifically to call out for praise MJ, Lauren Adams and Jessica Brooks for additional praise as they were truly superb.

Neighbour building adjacent to our property

Jed and his team at Herrington Carmichael have been very helpful, thorough in research, robust and timely in resolving matters, to maintain the privacy of our garden and property boundary when our neighbour was building next to our property. He was able to research and explain the deeds, his approach was very balanced and reassuring, and the matter was resolved appropriately with an agreed resolution moving forwards.
