Highly recommended. Patrick Macken took over my disability discrimination case with only around three weeks before our Employment Tribunal- Final Hearing. Given the complexity of the matter, I was initially concerned that there simply wouldn’t be enough time for him to fully understand the case and all of the issues involved. It was a very complex and hard-fought case, with a huge amount of evidence to work through. The respondents side had been represented by a very experienced barrister from the early stages of proceedings, including the preliminary hearing, judicial mediation and also represented at the final hearing. We had been living and breathing the case for over two years, so we knew just how much there was to take in. We initially had email communications, and we first met Patrick properly on the morning of 10 August 2026 - the day of the final hearing Despite having an enormous amount of material and countless potential questions available to him, Patrick identified the important issues and chose the right lines of cross-examination. He delivered his questions confidently, clearly and professionally, and exposed a number of important points that needed to be challenged. His final submission was equally impressive. He presented our case with confidence and clarity, referred to the relevant legal principles and applicable case law, and brought together the key issues in a way that was compelling and easy to follow. Most importantly, both my wife and I felt completely at ease with Patrick. He gave us confidence at a time when we really needed it. My husband even told Patrick during the hearing that his cross-examination was every bit as good as we would have expected from a barrister, and we genuinely meant it. We could not have asked for better representation at such an important stage of the case - all things considered. Thank you, Patrick, for your professionalism, preparation, confidence and, most importantly, for fighting our corner. We won! I can’t thank Patrick enough for all of his help and support throughout my employment matter. As a lawyer myself it was interesting for me to see things from the other side. I did not expect to be in a position to need the advice I required but was so relieved to find Steve Roberts - an extremely competent, calm and personable solicitor who put me at my ease within minutes of speaking to him. I am so glad I instructed someone else instead of dealing with the case myself- his written response was extremely succinct and well put. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Victoria Rees was great in her diligence in helping me to provide what was needed for the process when all my instincts kept moving towards much too personal reflections. She bore with me when I would think of something which I thought was important and immediately include it in an email. This made her life more difficult in processing all the information I was giving her. She pushed me to be more remorseful in my reflections when I would hold back because of shame. Thank you Victoria for the time and energy you took in knocking me into shape.

I got intouch with Richard Nelson's after needing help with a contract regarding mutually agreed redundancy, but due to the contract not containing the correct information by the time I got the correct version I only had two days left before it had to be signed and returned. I rang and was assured that someone would be able to help me, I was give an appointment for the next day and met Jayne Harrison, she was brilliant! She read through the contents with me pointing out several mistakes, she got straight in touch with my employer and got them amended . I have one last part to complete in January. I am so glad that I chose Richard Nelson's as after much stress they dealt with my situation extremely quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing any legal advice.

I contacted Richard Nelson as I urgently needed some expert legal advice about a distressing and sensitive matter. The service I received throughout my case from Latoya Atkinson was outstanding. Latoya dealt with my case with sensitivity without losing at any point her forensic focus on the arising matters.
