We recently required the services of Barcan + Kirby solicitors in Clifton, Bristol, both for a house sale and purchase. They were exceptional at all stages of the process, friendly, professional, efficient and we would highly recommend. Our house purchase happened at a potentially stressful time, immediately before moving and buying restrictions were put in place in March 2020. Wendy Smith dealt with the purchase of our first home and provided a fantastic service. Wendy was extremely efficient, helpful and friendly and progressed everything very smoothly - taking extra time to help us through the process with no prior experience. The fees charged were completely transparent and exactly as initially quoted. Would certainly recommend.

We were selling a flat that we have owned for a number of years and knew it would take some time due to having to navigate the changes in ground rent. As part of the sale we needed negotiate a deed of variation with the land lord. Sally expertise and guidance in the area were critical in getting us to the finish line. I can not speak highly enough of the service she provided to us and the effort in navigating some challenging stakeholders. Including the buyers solicitor who had to practically be coached through the entire process. A massive thank you from Gemma and I for helping us get our flat sold.

Absolutely excellent experience with Sally and her assistant Betty throughout our flat purchase. Even though we weren’t first-time buyers, there were still plenty of moving parts, and they handled everything with real professionalism and calm efficiency. Sally was consistently thorough and reassuring at every stage, making sure nothing was missed and explaining things clearly when things got a bit technical. Betty was also fantastic — always quick to respond, on top of updates, and incredibly helpful whenever we had questions. What really stood out was how smooth the whole process felt in their hands. Communication was clear, things moved promptly, and we always felt properly looked after rather than left chasing updates (which, let’s be honest, is the horror story you hear about conveyancing). We’re genuinely grateful for their support and would highly recommend them to anyone going through a property purchase.

I've now used Barcan&Kirby on two property transactions and they were brilliant both times. Easy to contact, reliable and quick to deal with issues. The estate agent dealing with our purchase said it was refreshing to work with a solicitor who was so proactive. Transparent on pricing and charged less than estimated both times. Had conveyancing practice deal with the purchase of a new home for me 4 years ago, & I’m still being told by lenders that part of the property doesn’t belong to me!!

During your recent phone conversation with her, you confirmed you are uncertain about which of part the property is not owned. Unfortunately, this means there isn’t any further assistance we’re able to provide at this stage.
