Excellent Service

I recently used Coodes for legal advice regarding an Employment Settlement Agreement and couldn't be more satisfied with the service received. All meetings were conducted via Teams, which was incredibly convenient, no travelling required, and everything ran smoothly from the comfort of home. This person is not a Solicitor

Bernadette is not a solicitor and is in fact a paralegal - although she introduced herself to us as an “Associate Solicitor”. She sought to charge us £315 an hour (paralegal rate is £142 an hour) for total work of £30,000 when the website said would cost £3,000 - £4,000. They refused to provide a breakdown of costs. We complained to the firm and Sarah Cornish who took no action and had to escalate to the Regulators.

We are disappointed to read this review. We should note that the reviewer is not a client of this firm. We act for the court-appointed independent administrator of an estate, of which the reviewer is a beneficiary. A formal complaint was raised, thoroughly investigated by our Complaints Partner, and rejected in full, with detailed written reasons. We are not able to discuss the specifics further, but we do not recognise the account given here. We would also address the suggestion that our colleague misrepresented her professional status. She is a Chartered Paralegal regulated by CILEX, a recognised legal qualification. The title Associate reflects an internal seniority grade at this firm, held by both legal and non-legal staff, and is not a professional designation. At no point did she describe herself as a solicitor. If the reviewer wishes to pursue matters further, the Legal Ombudsman is available to her.

Terrible... Arrived 20 minutes early for a scheduled 2pm meeting. After 50 minutes of waiting, there was still no sign of the solicitor becoming available, or justification given for the delay. The whole experience was very unprofessional. Lots of gossiping going on in the waiting area by the staff which inspired no confidence in the business as a whole or their ability to handle our business. We walked out...

Im not their client but owner of the only other property in the chain. We are 9 weeks into the process and still have not heard from Coodes.My recommendation would be to go elsewhere if you want a good service. They need to look at the way they work
