I contacted Mullis & Peake LLP and was put through to Manzurul Islam. Manzurul was a breath of fresh air after disappointing experiences with two other law firms. He took the time to listen thoroughly to our queries before giving any advice, used logical examples and a common sense approach to help us navigate the minefield of law and taxation that probate, wills and trusts can be, to the average layman. I would go so far as to say that he helped re-establish my confidence in dealing with a complex legal situation at what is a difficult time and restored my faith in the professionals who work in the legal field. It proves that you need to be very careful who you choose to place your trust in while handling difficult situations. We cannot thank Martyn enough for his advice and support in resolving our inheritance dispute. Our only regret is that we didn’t retain Mullis & Peake at the outset of our problem, 5 years ago. Before we found Martyn, we had retained another firm of solicitors to act on our behalf as we wished to buy out our brother’s 1/3 share of our parents’ house. What should, in theory, have been a speedy transfer of cash for title (he had no interest in keeping the property himself) turned into a 5-year costly and protracted dispute with a suspicious co-beneficiary. Feeling frustrated with the lack of practical advice and shocking response times at the other firm, we left them and found Martyn, and we are so glad that we did. In a very short time, he had built a relationship with the solicitor acting for our brother and guided us all towards a full and final settlement agreement, which is exactly what we wanted 5 years ago. Martyn, Charlotte & the team were very responsive, pragmatic and down to earth. We would also like to mention the reception staff who were very friendly and efficient.
