Jamie represented me in my gross misconduct case, and I cannot thank him enough for the support and advice he provided throughout the entire process. He knew my case inside and out and ensured that he was there for me every step of the way. He gave me excellent advice and also supported me throughout the criminal court process, advising me on the barrister and keeping me fully informed at every stage. One of the most important parts of my case was that Jamie ensured the criminal case was dismissed at the pre-trial hearing at Crown Court. He also ensured that my gross misconduct hearing was reduced to a misconduct hearing. Jamie and his firm have provided one of the best services I could have asked for. I was appointed a legal aid duty solicitor. Sarah Margiotta turned up at the police station. This was my first time in this situation. From the get go Sarah looked and acted like she had been pulled out of her sleep was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Very adversarial and made it clear she was on duty during the early hours and had other people to see and didn't have time for me. My gut told me she was not in a happy place so I elected to call an alternative legal aid duty solicitor who was a breath of fresh air and provided very clear, succinct advice and support which was polar opposites to Sarah's advice. Thanks goodness I change from Sarah.

Marks advice was excellent. This was (as it turns out) quite a simple allegation against me with no foundation in fact. Mark was helpful, understanding and professional . He related his advice to personal experience and it felt as though he gave me time that he quite probably didn’t need to. There was no sense of rushing me. He gave the clear simple advice that I needed and was as reassuring as he could be in the circumstances. I was also impressed with the detailed knowledge he had of the statements and the allegation, he is obviously very capable and had also prepped well.

First duty solicitors I've had that I felt were working for me and not against me. With the caveat that the limited funding from legal aid means you won't get the same level of defense as a wealthy individual who can pay their own way I still have to respect the dedication of the solicitors from this firm who go above and beyond what most other firms provide.

I am not going say my full story because of confidential reasons but the family law side of straw and Pearce have been excellent even though it’s been a complex case I have had emotional and legal support as a male of domestic abuse it’s hard to get justice with the system always favouring mothers, Jennifer Ellis and her legal team Natasha hollier from the team who has listened to me every step and they have been excellent support , I am writing a review to show my respect and tell other people who are suffering there is a light at the end of the tunnel just keep going! After a year long of trials finally its getting there now . Best in the East Midlands for family law yet to mention the barrister who was amazing in court to fight for you. Truth always triumphs! I would recommend for family law to anyone who is going through a battle as a father or mother.They respond quick and and give you the best advice. They can help even most complex cases . Also the criminal side of the firm is excellent which I had to get help from aswell. Keep helping the people and good work guys !!

I would like to thank the Straw&Pearce Solicitors for their excellent work, dedication, and patience through a very difficult time in my life. To name a few individuals, Hayley and Sarah were very professional, offering support, kindness and understanding throughout my case. (NOTE: Sarah does not work for this company) At first, I was unsure whether I needed a solicitor or not as I felt that I had nothing to hide. However, that is not the case as no matter the situation, I was advised it is always best to take a solicitor or legal advice. In particular, Hayley was there for me from the very start of my interview while in custody, offering me legal advice in which steps I should take while also calming me down. Hayley was able to contact me regularly through a secure email system, updating the progress of the case and giving me the reassurance or guidance. Hayley was able to give me that extra push through the hard times to gather as much evidence in my defence which was needed. Sarah was also fantastic as she explained my account to the court in ways which I would never have been able to do myself. I felt that however busy they were, they always lent a sympathetic ear which was very much appreciated. Majority of people will never find themselves battling a court case against them which I thought I wouldn’t have to go through. Overall, it was a well earnt successful result with the hard work from everyone which I cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend Straw&Pearce Solicitors and taking their legal advice if you ever find yourself in police custody.
