Life Changing Outcome

Our life has changed immensely for the better now that our daughter has been granted a special school placement. Whereas before there was no hope we can look towards a brighter future - our daughter now able to access education and her mental health is improving every day. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for Samantha and Trudi's help in this matter, I don't know where we would have been without them! Samantha was so patient with us and seemed to genuinely understand the issues we faced. She offered a lot of practical advice and was there with us every step of the way during this long and horrible process. Outstanding in every way

If you are looking for an outstanding education solicitor look no further than Samantha Trowbridge at Richard Nelsons Solicitors (and her assistant Trudi Salmon) . Navigating the SEN and EHCP system is a minefield and mentally exhausting to the point where you feel broken. Samantha managed to balance brilliant legal strategy with profound empathy, it was as if she was fighting for her own child. She made us feel like we were a team, and she was the captain. When we thought there was no way we could get a favourable outcome, she never gave up the fight, even though we thought we were losing, she gave us hope, and that is what we held on to. She made us feel seen and supported every step of the way. Her (and Trudi's ) communication and support was beyond excellent, and she successfully won our case. I cannot thank her enough for securing an amazing education for my grandson in a specialist school. He now has a chance to be the best he can be and a happy school life. Thankyou doesn't touch the sides.

I first made contact with Richard Nelson via a google research. My specialty is swimming Instructor. After searching through many DBS specialists I came across Richard Nelson, thankfully! Their reviews from past clients and speaking to the administrator over the phone made my decision to use them as my representation I was appointed Mark who from start to finish was professional, down to earth and most of all reassuring with what the process entails and how we were going to respond. The all process was completed in a timely and organised manner by Mark allowing plenty time to process, amend then submit the application I really can’t thank Richard Nelson as a company and most importantly Mark as my assigned DBS specialist solicitor Highly recommended!

DBS MINDED TO BAR

When I recieved a Minded to Bar letter two months ago, my whole life was shattered. I thought the end of everything I cared about was over, following an incident for which the Teaching Regulation Agency saw fit to dismiss with 'No Further Action'. Mark was a source of real strength in terms of his assured and relevent experience in DBS matters, and with his extensive knowledge of how the DBS works, and what it is exactly they're looking for with representations, I was not included in the Children's Barred List. Such an inclusion would have been catastrophic for me, in every way. Mark took my instructions and made full and comprehensive representations on my behalf, and with five weeks to spare of the DBS' eight week deadline. He updated and added to these when new information came to light. I was appreciative of him always being on the end of a phone whenever I had a question. And I had many! I can now rebuild not only my career, but my life, as well as my and my family's future, thanks to Mark's compelling mitigation to the DBS. Recommended without reservation to all those who find themselves in similar circumstances with the DBS. Thank you Mark!

Highly recommended. Patrick Macken took over my disability discrimination case with only around three weeks before our Employment Tribunal- Final Hearing. Given the complexity of the matter, I was initially concerned that there simply wouldn’t be enough time for him to fully understand the case and all of the issues involved. It was a very complex and hard-fought case, with a huge amount of evidence to work through. The respondents side had been represented by a very experienced barrister from the early stages of proceedings, including the preliminary hearing, judicial mediation and also represented at the final hearing. We had been living and breathing the case for over two years, so we knew just how much there was to take in. We initially had email communications, and we first met Patrick properly on the morning of 10 August 2026 - the day of the final hearing Despite having an enormous amount of material and countless potential questions available to him, Patrick identified the important issues and chose the right lines of cross-examination. He delivered his questions confidently, clearly and professionally, and exposed a number of important points that needed to be challenged. His final submission was equally impressive. He presented our case with confidence and clarity, referred to the relevant legal principles and applicable case law, and brought together the key issues in a way that was compelling and easy to follow. Most importantly, both my wife and I felt completely at ease with Patrick. He gave us confidence at a time when we really needed it. My husband even told Patrick during the hearing that his cross-examination was every bit as good as we would have expected from a barrister, and we genuinely meant it. We could not have asked for better representation at such an important stage of the case - all things considered. Thank you, Patrick, for your professionalism, preparation, confidence and, most importantly, for fighting our corner. We won!
