Both my husband and myself needed to update our Wills. As the previous ones were through Laura Williams at BLJ, we of course wanted to go back and ask for Laura’s help again. We also requested help from Laura in writing and submitting for registration, Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPAs) for us both. Laura was informative and helpful throughout both processes. She is very approachable and obviously has expertise in these areas - especially when we needed assistance & clarity. Laura took time to explain things where we had questions and she pointed out pros and cons for us to consider. Laura was very patient with us which we really appreciated! We were in excellent hands and would have no hesitation in returning to Laura and to BLJ whenever we may need a solicitor in the future. Additionally we feel we have had very good “value for money” considering the amounts charged for Wills and for LPAs. Thank you Laura and BLJ!

I was recommended blj by a colleague who had previously used the firm. As a first time buyer the conveyancing process was new to me. The team were patient with me and answered any queries I had. My assigned solicitor and her assistant were amazing and although the process took a while, no fault of the solicitors on either side, probate property with a hidden leasehold, I did not feel overwhelmed or stressed at any point. The app was also a great tool and I felt amazing when the moving van finally made it to the house with the fireworks. Would highly recommend to others looking at purchasing a home.

Amazing service, staff so helpful Shakirra and Sam both constantly reassured us with all the steps along the way and was always helpful to answer questions when we’ve rang up etc, never needed to chase up any steps in the process because they are extremely fast with getting the process all done amazing how quick they have got this all done for us, would 100% recommend to others so supportive throughout it all cannot thank these two women enough there amazing at what they do.

Having never been in a situation where we needed legal representation before, this was a really stressful time for us. We bought our house through BLJ with nothing major going wrong. They were upfront about fees and there were no hidden fees or surprises along the way. The app was really helpful at the beginning when we were trying to keep track of everything that needed to be done. It was useful to have all communication in one place and not scattered throughout emails. The only reason it’s not a 5 star review is that at the very end, the crux point of trying to complete, it was tricky to get hold of our solicitors to confirm information when we were getting nervy as first time buyers. We wanted a little more reassurance that everything was going to go ahead on the planned date. Overall, I would recommend.

The estate agents even commented how refreshing it was to have solicitors who were on the ball. Not planning on moving again but I'd definitely use BLJ again for any future transactions. Initially impressed with the portal but soon realised that the responses are slow and are holding responses not action driven. No clear updates on what is outstanding or what needs to be sorted by who. Difficult to get hold of the solicitors by phone or portal. 48hrs SLA to respond to messages but still waiting following this. The process of buying a house is outdated and needs to be more streamlined. The statement for our mortgage was not requested in a timely manner as one example, SLA not known by the solicitor which was 48 hrs not 24hrs which delayed the sale. Informed by solicitor it was requested on Monday but when I called First direct it was only requested on Tuesday with 48hr leadtime. The statement is valid for 30 days. Why would you not have requested this earlier? Nothing seems to be streamlines at all with no clear communication with Seller at all.
