In general, the service provided was competent. However, there were a number of items that were either OTT or annoying. 1. There was no need to provide (both electronically and physically), a literal ream of paper containing every little item that the whole development has gone through. This is my third new build property I have purchased in the last 7 years and no other firm has provided this morass of data. It is overkill, confusing, and meaningless to the lay-person. I would assume that part of the job of the conveyancer is to summarise this and highlight any issues. The hard-copy is a total waste of resources in this day and age. There were times when the information provided just seemed like a dump of everything that had been gleaned from searches carried out for all purchasers on the development - and almost a justification of service fees. It needs to be much more precise and focused to my mind. 2. There were a number of items missed, in conversations, which seems to show a lack of attention to detail, for instance not providing a proper final invoice (and in fact providing one with the developer's solicitors details on, instead of WGA's). I had to work through this, rather than the service provided aiding me. 3. The "secure communication" process used, worked ok for me (although it was annoying). But I am a software engineer at an Investment Bank, so I am highly technical. Most people will not have my level of competence and so will greatly struggle with this approach. It needs to be thought through and simplified in some manner.
