We was recommended Steven Rimmer solicitors by a family member when my partner was involved in a serious crime back in January 2024. Louis has been great from start to end, always got back to me within a day of making contact, made us aware of updates/changes as soon as he knew, turned up to every single bail meeting and was very professional and knowledgeable when being interviewed, which we believe is one of the contributing reasons for the case being dropped. We would highly recommend and will use again if we ever needed.

Louis Hall supported me with impeccable professionalism at every stage of my traumatic arrest and subsequent six months on bail ordeal until all the charges against me were dropped yesterday. Jade was excellent, she explained to me in detail the whole procedure and what my rights were in that context. Very professional. Made me feel confident and provided me with the right legal advise. Family law is a very sensitive matter, my case was family law. Sadly, you expect the person giving you legal advice that you are paying for the know the law. And not miss very important points of law. That even a judge said he was surprised they missed. Sadly, if they had of been honest in the beginning it would of saved everyone a lot of time, instead they told me what wanted to hear they told me a good chance of winning it wasn’t until I got into court to mins before the hearing was about to start the barrister said you are likely to lose. Talk about burning my bridges, how did she think I would give evidence effectively knowing this. All they wanted was money to make money from me/Legal aid. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They had no interest in my case and really made no effort to win. The barrister they engaged was totally useless, at the beginning of my trial she said prepared to lose. What are you serious!! she never even tried. After the case I told the solicitor and the Barrister I wanted to appeal they said it was not a good idea and the chance of an appeal being successful were 0 they were wrong. I sacked them an appealed myself. I ended up gaining more than both Barrister and solicitor and managed to achieve. I have had not a day’s legal training in my life. They missed a huge point in law, and even the judge said it was a recognised fact. I complained about them, and they made excuse after excuse. Dreadful dreadful representation. Dont use them for a matrimonial case, especially not on Legal aid. They give you junior solicitor that has no experience and charges a fortune for doing nothing. To this day they still have not gained, financial disclose from my Ex they never even brough this up in court. My Ex wiped the floor with them and made them look so pathetic. They let a court leave my Ex earning thousand a month and my children and i with next to nothing. After the case the barrister for the other side changed the order without agreement from my side and send the order to the court for sealing. Crazy situation that the law is so bad these days that it lets people down in this manner. Hidden in these reviews I see there are others that aren’t happy with their service seems to be a trend. I am very sure in their reply they will not give a reason as to why they didn’t follow the law or advise me on the correct points of law.
We would like to provide some context to this matter. Firstly, family law is a sensitive and complex area of law. This can mean that as much as a client may want to achieve certain objectives, we may have to share advice they do not want to hear. Secondly, we believe it is best to be open and honest with our clients from the outset. In doing so we can try and manage expectations and protect our clients’ best interests. We will do so even if the receipt of that advice is not well received, and/or if it results in a negative review. In this case, we are entirely satisfied we provided sensitive and appropriate advice. We wish you well in resolving matters and managing very challenging circumstances.
Very satisfied with the result of the case and outcome, the firm concluded everything very professionally.

Emily was amazing from start to finish which also included one false start due to delays by the buyer but Emily stayed with us and guided us through what could have been a very stressful journey. So much of the work was done by Emily without any fuss and her confidence began to rub off on us too. We exchanged, completed and moved into our new home within a week of each other and couldn't be happier with the role Emily played in getting us to this stage. Emily Reed is a star and happy to recommend her to anyone and everyone. There is always an amazing team of people who help deliver such great outcomes and we know they were there helping Emily but she was our primary point of contact and Stephen Rimmer should be proud of all its people and particularly of Emily.

I recently used this company for a probate case, it has taken 4 years to complete, very difficult to get response to queries and received very poor service
We always try to give the best service possible and it is disappointing to learn when our levels of services fall short. We are now in contact and looking to resolve these issues.
