I recently completed the sale of my late mother's house. During this process which involved one sale falling through Jade has given me excellent advice and kept me up to date with the progress of the sale. Any concerns were resolved promptly. After 6 months of trying to deal with a difficult vehicle rejection, I found myself speaking to Jason at Frettons. After the first phone contact I felt I finally had someone on my side who was interested in me and my case and needs and not just how much money he could make out of me, which is how other solicitors made me feel. He listened to my case and gave me some sound advice as well as the re assurance I needed at the time. I went on to resolve the dispute to a satisfactory conclusion and can not recommend Jason highly enough.

My wife + I were met at reception, who were well prepared for our visit. We were shown into a comfortable private room. Our legal adviser arrived (Julie) immediately. She was pleasant, making it easy for us to relax + start to bond with her. She very clearly explained the legal complexities, especially the LPA process. Shelley from Frettens was professional and easy to work with throughout the process. However, it’s important to be aware that if your sale or purchase falls through—even at the last minute—they will still charge 75% of their fee.
I was disappointed when our initial sale collapsed just before the exchange of contracts, but it was even more of a shock to find we were still liable for a substantial fee, plus full fee was charged for the second sale. Just a word of warning: make sure you read the small print in their terms and conditions carefully.

Be cautious when using this conveyancing law firm and ensure you read the terms and conditions thoroughly. If a sale or purchase falls through at the last minute, they will charge 75% of their fee for any abortive transaction and 100% on any subsequent sale or purchase.
In contrast, my experience with Dixon Stewart has been far more reasonable. I’ve used them for previous sales and purchases, and in situations where transactions have fallen through, they have not imposed unexpected or excessive charges.
Based on my experience, I would recommend Dixon Stewart for a more transparent and fair conveyancing service.

Our bright team are not only experts in their field, but excellent communicators with a positive, can-do approach to helping clients. The team use plain English and don’t hide behind unnecessarily complex ‘legalese’. As a client, you will always have your lawyer's name, email, and direct contact number for ease of access. Your first meeting with us is always free. People shouldn’t be put off seeking legal advice for fear of being charged to be told they don’t have a case.
