Amazing Service

Shelley Dancer was recommended to us by our estate agent and has been amazing since the beginning. She has helped us navigate both the complex conveyancing process for both our sale and purchase. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that we exchanged and completed ahead of the dreaded stamp duty increase. She provided us with regular updates and we are so grateful to her for all she has done. Thank you Shelley.

Smooth Purchase and Sale: Excellent Service from Frettens

Julia and Phoebe were excellent in efficiently completing the conveyancing process for our purchase. They also managed the sale of our old property well, striving to finalize it as quickly as possible before the stamp duty increase. I would use Frettens again and recommend them to friends.

Purchase

Natalie, Lauren and Teresa did an incredible job with our purchase - from file open to completion in less than six weeks! As first time buyers, we were very lucky to be in a scenario where there was no chain, but the team still did everything in their power to ensure the process was speedy so we were able to complete before the stamp duty changes came into place. Being able to complete all the initial forms digitally and make the initial payment online was really handy and also sped up the file opening process. Natalie replied to every question promptly and clearly, and she did a great job of chasing the sellers solicitor to keep things moving. The accounts team were also super helpful and let us send £1 of our deposit and confirmed receipt before we sent the rest, so we had peace of mind when sending funds - very reassuring as first time buyers. Thank you team!

Shocked by additional cost of £840!!

While our interactions with Shelley have been courteous and she has maintained a pleasant manner throughout, we encountered two significant administrative errors on the purchase contracts—namely, an incorrect stamp duty calculation and an incorrect purchase price. These errors could have had serious financial consequences had I not identified them. We were also disappointed to be charged an additional £840 in relation to an abortive sale. In our previous experience with Dixon Stewart in Highcliffe, we were in a similar situation and were not charged an extra fee, given that the majority of the conveyancing work had already been completed at that stage. We acknowledge that this charge may be referenced in the firm’s terms and conditions, albeit within the fine print—which, in hindsight, we accept should have been reviewed more carefully. However, we feel the policy lacks transparency and falls short of the service standard we’ve come to expect based on past conveyancing experiences. Given the above experience, we cannot recommend Frettens conveyancing department to friends and family.

Superb service and advice from start to finish

As this was our first time purchasing a property we were very unsure what we needed to do. Simone helped us through every stage with professionalism and gave us advice and help where and when needed. She helped make the process as stress free as possible and she was a joy to deal with. A great asset to your team.

Exceptional Legal Team - Chris & Justine Went Above and Beyond!

I approached Chris midway through a legal dispute when the case had become too complex and time consuming for me to handle alone. Chris quickly assessed the progress I had made and picked up from where I left off seamlessly. His approachable, down-to-earth personality immediately put me at ease and he was extremely efficient and diligent. Justine, meanwhile, was thorough and her keen eye for detail made the documents submitted for my case watertight.

What I appreciated most was the lack of pressure from either Chris or Justine. They knew the law inside and out, guiding me through the process and building my confidence on what was an extremely personal legal case. Thanks to their dedication and expertise, we achieved a successful outcome.

I initially thought I could handle everything myself and didn’t see the need for a legal team. But Chris and Justine proved me wrong—I couldn’t have done it without them.

Shelley from Frettens was professional and easy to work with throughout the process. However, it’s important to be aware that if your sale or purchase falls through—even at the last minute—they will still charge 75% of their fee.

I was disappointed when our initial sale collapsed just before the exchange of contracts, but it was even more of a shock to find we were still liable for a substantial fee, plus full fee was charged for the second sale. Just a word of warning: make sure you read the small print in their terms and conditions carefully.

Be cautious when using this conveyancing law firm and ensure you read the terms and conditions thoroughly. If a sale or purchase falls through at the last minute, they will charge 75% of their fee for any abortive transaction and 100% on any subsequent sale or purchase.

In contrast, my experience with Dixon Stewart has been far more reasonable. I’ve used them for previous sales and purchases, and in situations where transactions have fallen through, they have not imposed unexpected or excessive charges.

Based on my experience, I would recommend Dixon Stewart for a more transparent and fair conveyancing service.

I recently sold and purchased a property and instructed Frettens as my conveyencers.
My experience was seamless, fast and friendly from start to finish.

Natalie, Jade and the team were super helpful and put up with my often silly questions and were always happy to explain things to us.

I would highly reccomend Frettens Christchurch, after using a condesending/rude solicitor in the past Frettens was a breath of fresh air.
