Friendly, helpful and professional.

My partner and I decided to put in place wills and LPAs for health and finance. from the initial phone call to Frettens, the documents were completed. Everyone at Frettens was friendly, helpful and professional. Chloe was very knowledgeable and made the whole process easy to follow and simple to complete. Communication was clear and reassuring. We will definitely use Frettens again and highly recommend them to others.

Airbnb neighbours from “”

Realising that there was no authority or organisation that could help us with a full house nuisance airbnb adjoining us, we instructed Olivia who specialised in ‘deeds and covenants’ to deal with the matter, knowing that the legal route was the only route! Not only were Olivia and her team professional, tenacious, calm and understanding they gave good advice and support, she was always at the end of a phone or email and was very quick to respond. Olivia recommended Alex our Barrister who was prepared to go above and beyond if needed. We cannot praise or recommend Olivia, her team and Alex enough, we got the best result we could have expected, thank you so much!! Kim/Keith

Amazing legal service

I cannot recommend Frettens Solicitors enough. They are open and honest to work with. Olivia is very good at her job and did not allow my mother to be pressured or bullied into anything. She made sure she defended her and acted quickly if things were not correct. Thank you so much!

Lease Extension for 12 Apartments

As the Freeholder for a block of flats, we engaged Frettens to extend all 12 leases at the same time. The service provided was fantastic, dealing with each leaseholder directly on our behalf. We have been kept up to date throughout the process and nothing was too much trouble. We had complications including a property sale during the extension process but Kerry Martin did everything she could to get the paperwork completed and filed over the busy Christmas period to ensure sale could proceed without delay. Overall we are very happy with the service and highly recommend Frettens and Kerry Martin.

A welcoming experience

I wanted to make a small change to my will. When I arrived at the Ringwood office I was warmly welcomed by the team and made comfortable in a meeting room where Lee soon joined me.

When Lee joined he made me feel very relaxed when talking about the changes, explains everything, checks your understanding and encourages questions while listening and making sure he has understood what you are asking/saying.

An excellent experience.

Olivia Le Masurier

I would 100% recommend Olivia Le Masurier to anyone. She got my divorce and finances all finalised and sorted super efficiently. She was professional, kind and ever helpful, she would always get back to me super quickly.
The only reason i have given 4 stars over 5 is that I had to go through 3 solicitors in the firm before having the pleasure of getting Olivia ( 2 solicitors left, and 1 took on too much work so had to pass on clients to Olivia ) I do believe that if I had had Olivia from the start the whole process would have been complete in half the time.
Thank you again Olivia

Awful communication, very slow to reply to emails or follow up calls. If you need something sorted quickly then this is not the place. But on the other side when they need you to respond different story altogether

A telephone appointment for an initial consultation was arranged whereby I rearranged my work to take the call. Waited nearly 20 mins after the arranged time for them to call me but received nothing. Called the main number to enquire why I hadn't received a call. The person answering (not the person with whom the appointment was) apologised but I expressed how this did not bode well - late for the first contact.

I refused the offer of an appointment on a different day due to the time I would have had to wait because this is a matter I would have liked to address asap. I approached another company instead.

I asked for an estimate of fees before starting a simple legal process but the estimate was far short of my expectations. The process was not complicated and everything done via email. I found their fees to be excessive and errors were made in accounting. I would not recommend this firm

About this branch

Description

Frettens was founded in 1978 by Ian Fretten as a sole practitioner in Christchurch, dealing with residential property, wills, probate and trusts. As a firm, we grew steadily over the years, providing additional commercial services and expanding to Ringwood. Our bright team are not only experts in their field, but excellent communicators with a positive, can-do approach to helping clients. The team use plain English and don’t hide behind unnecessarily complex ‘legalese’. As a client, you will always have your lawyer's name, email, and direct contact number for ease of access. Your first meeting with us is always free. People shouldn’t be put off seeking legal advice for fear of being charged to be told they don’t have a case.
