This is the second time I’ve worked with Chantal Sorial, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. We first worked together last year on selling my flat and purchase another property. Although that transaction unfortunately fell through for reasons outside anyone’s control, Chantal was professional, thorough and great to work with throughout the process. I asked for her again when purchasing our auction property this year. A huge thank you as well to Sneha, who was always responsive, helpful and kept us updated throughout. Buying an auction property with a tight completion deadline was stressful at times, especially with delays from the seller’s solicitor, but Chantal and Sneha handled everything professionally and kept things moving. Thanks to their hard work, we exchanged and completed on time. Thank you both again – we really appreciate everything you did for us.

I rarely leave reviews, not least a negative review, as I appreciate reviews like this can have a big impact on a business. However, my buying process with Taylor Rose was deeply frustrating and traumatic, so I share this to inform prospective buyers’ decisions when selecting a solicitor. I initially instructed Taylor Rose to be a solicitor in my London flat purchase. The source of funds was part mortgage, part cash, of which the latter was transferred from overseas. My father is an expat but employed in China and has his salary deposited in Hong Kong, so the money transferred came from a Hong Kong bank account. I provided all documents required, including income tax documents and bank statements, but Taylor Rose’s compliance team were not able to let me complete without a document from the Chinese outward remittance application, even though the money transferred did not touch Mainland China. This was made known to me by their compliance team right before exchange and I was forced to instruct new solicitors, as they weren’t able to complete. My case was referred to as a complex case, though the property value was significantly under £1M with no chain. My new solicitors were able to complete within a month with the same documents. Also to note, my solicitor at Taylor Rose never picked up the phone and communication was painfully slow. The only time I spoke to him was when he let me know we would not be able to exchange contracts. As a first time buyer, this was a horrendous experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. If you are buying with funds coming in from overseas, I would highly advise you opt for a firm / solicitor that is familiar with that country’s financial regulations.

Having gone through the ordeal of re-mortgaging in the past I was absolutely delighted with the service I received from Taylor Rose! Everything was handled with expert efficiency and made the process so very easy. In all my years (quite a lot of them) I have never found re-mortgaging so easy! Would thoroughly recommend them
