They took 3 weeks to write a letter in which my circumstances of my case changed! Then when I also asked for a letter of advice on a report and paid for them to say speak to the issuer! Then when I complained they did not see an issue with any of this
I would not recommend Barcan+Kirby. They did not inform me of the risks involved with following their litigation advice because, in their words, they did not want the implications of being locked into an appeal process to cause alarm. Having then spent thousands with firm, I had to withdraw from the court process with no outcome. I then transferred to another firm of solicitors and after receiving much better advice and customer care, I concluded my application for a leasehold extension, at a fraction of the cost I had spent with Barcan+Kirby.

Farah Akram at Barkan and Kirby Kingswood was really bad in handling our house move. Farah failed to inform us that we needed to sign and return by post a contract and mortgage deed until (when we asked if there was anything we needed to do) 3 days before our due exchange and completion date. Once this was done we then had a 5-day wait to draw down the mortgage - this caused immense stress and meant we had to delay moving until the following week. We fully expected Farah had caused the whole chain to fall through as the sellers had a hard deadline for schools, luckily we managed to agree a week's delay. In the month before our exchange date, Farah also went on leave without telling us for 2 weeks and having not replied to 3 emails over a 2 week period prior which again very nearly made our house sale fall through. We asked to have another solicitor on our case but the manager told us Farah was an excellent solicitor and she had talked to her about the issues, however Farah then proceeded to incorrectly withdraw our deposit funds 3 times. I've never complained about anyone online before but honestly don't use Barcan and Kirby. Luckily my partner was a solicitor so knew what she was doing and we ended up cutting out Farah and doing the final negotiations ourselves.

I decided to consult Barcan + Kirby with regard to a possible claim for medical negligence after reading many positive client reviews. On my initial visit when I presented my synopsis of events I was given very clear and helpful advice by Adrian, now retired, and by everyone else that became involved. My case was against two defendants, this did not help because one was a great deal slower than the other in responding throughout the entire process but with the very competent Fiona at the helm we came to a very successful conclusion. I should add that I had health problems during the legal process and I think Fiona deserves a medal for the patience and tactful manner in which she handled everything. I would not liked to have to dealt with myself during this time.

Had conveyancing practice deal with the purchase of a new home for me 4 years ago, & I’m still being told by lenders that part of the property doesn’t belong to me!!
