Siils and Betteridge is truly appalling. I was charged with a criminal offence, and Katie Scott was to be my DEFENCE solicitor, employed to DEFEND me. No chance of that. I was asked to provide evidence, which included CCTV, to support my case. It was strong evidence, but Katie Scott, and the barrister employed by her, dismissed it all such that I was left with no defence at all. When I insisted that the evidence be used both of them abandoned me minutes before the Trial was due to start, giving the excuse that they were "professionally embarrassed". This, in plain English, means that they did not like being instructed by a paying client, and decided to walk off in a huff. They showed no professionalism whatsoever. Some while late, I posted a critical online review, but this was swiftly removed, probably because of "professional embarrassment". I hope this review will not be removed, but because Sills and Betteridge are easily "professionally embarrassed", it probably will. My advice is not to use Sills and Betteridge if you do not want to be abandoned at Court, or if you expect to be able to ask your solicitor to use evidence. It "professionally embarrasses" the poor dears.
We are sorry to hear you remain unhappy after following our complaints procedure 2 years ago. We have strict conduct rules that we have to abide by and in some cases, it is necessary to cease acting in order to fulfil our professional obligations. I approach Sills and Betteridge in panic about my charge. They all have been professional but approachable and very very helpful. Katie was always honest and Chris my barrister used best of his knowledge to help me out. Highly recommend and very grateful for the company as well.

She has this great way of being friendly and approachable while remaining completely professional, which immediately put us both at ease. She took the time to explain the 'hows and whys' of our case in plain English, never leaving us in the dark. Throughout the entire period between the charges and the trial, Katie was incredibly responsive; if we had a question, she had an answer. I have worked with sills and betteridge multiple times and I can't complain been absolutely amazing great service friendly and understanding. Very considerate of situations people are in.
I Have nothing but a double thumbs up for this firm. They stood by me through a living nightmare and I got through it. Not only as support through the actual hearing but as moral support too by sorting a separate room to help with my anxiety, getting special measures put into place and speaking on my behalf and got the result that was needed in order for me to be able to breathe until the crown court date! This firm of highly professional solicitors is outstanding, and I would like to mention the ones involved in my case. I have dealt with Sills & Betteridge Lincoln with conveyancing 3 times now and been both on the selling and buying end, and have to say their knowledge, efficiency, attention to detail and effectiveness are second to none. Even when dealing with difference circumstances (eg. putting property into a trust), they surpassed 2 other reputable solicitors contacted for quotes in their understanding (and the only ones to actually give us correct information!) Super quick to answer any emails, always same day (even out of hours) and always answer the phone and their wise advice has undoubtedly saved us a lot of money over the years. Centrally located office with plenty of customer parking which is also appreciated. Special shout out to Ellie Kilshaw and Ed Sharpe who have consistently gone above and beyond to fight our corner and deliver positive outcomes every time. Thank you both so much for all your help!
