Caroline Sherry worked extremely hard to help us secure our dream home. We had to put her under time pressure due to complications with our transaction and she was always available and responded promptly. Amazing representation for us

The representation myself and my son received was outstanding. From the very first phone call, I felt reassured and not alone. Sarah was thorough and clear about everything from minute one. Her professionalism, determination and dedication to our case have been wonderful all the way through. Sarah's genuineness and efficiency make her a pleasure to deal with. Sarah's responses were always prompt, I always knew where I stood due to everything being made clear and the billing side was always transparent. What could have been an entirely different experience was made far more bearable by really feeling that we had an friend on our side representing us with her extensive legal expertise. We used Setfords solicitors to purchase a flat in London. Initial conversations went well, and the process started smoothly. However, over time, communication became much less efficient, and the solicitor made little effort to resolve outstanding issues with the seller. Whenever we asked for an update, they simply repeated the same email without providing any detailed information on the current status of the process. After working with us for four(!) months and presumably processing the documents, we were abruptly informed that, due to changes in the company’s insurance policy, they were dropping our case and would no longer represent us. We had to quickly find another solicitor, pay extra for urgency, transfer all the documents, and explain the delays to the seller, which were caused by Setfords’ actions. Regardless of the policy change, they should have checked this at the beginning, not after four months. As a result, we wasted months with Setfords, incurred unnecessary fees, and delayed the purchase, which nearly caused the chain to collapse.

At the outset, we were told to include all of the expenses incurred for our dispute. I supplied an abundant amount of information, with dates, regulatory laws broken and the general lead to researched litigation. C9mplete waste of time. The solicitor either didn't bother to respond or was so inexperienced that the case was way above their ego. The solicitor then left the company and I was never contacted to say so. An absolutely shambolic customer care department which I also believe is non-existent, and a complete lack of integrity. I DO NOT EX0ECT TO HAVE TO READ DRAFT LETTERS AND REPEATEDLY BRING UP 11+ GRAMMAR AND SPELLING MISTAKES. You will be better served by a no win no fee company.

Moving may be a headache , but Sam at Setfords is your aspirin!

I used Setfords for my divorce, will update and I was further recommended Sam Laker as a convancy solicitor for my new ‘Home’. I purchased post divorce. Sam was not only professional, but she was understanding and supportive though out the purchase of my flat, understanding how stressful things had been and making things as smooth as she could. Once the leasehold was purchased, I then employed Sam further to extend the leasehold extension. With an outdated lease, being offered, there was considerable work needing to be done, and with the other side using a trainee, some times the work was extremely tedious and took a lot longer than it should have through no fault of Sam’s, however, Sam pushed for the correct information when it wasn’t right, to ensure that I had the most accurate data to match today’s laws. . Sam is meticulous in her work and made sure that everything was done properly. She explained in layman’s terms when I needed help understanding legal terminology and was always avalible to discuss things if need be. I have a huge respect for all the Setford professionals I have used in the past 3 years and would definitely recommend to anyone. There system uses high tec security, everything is easy to understand and easy to use. So I was never worried about that side of things. Everything was dealt with in the most professional manner possible.

Highly recommend Seafords for lease extensions!

I spent two months looking for a lease extension solicitor, reaching out to probably 30 firms - both big and small - and no one would even touch my case. I wasn't even sure why, especially since everyone wanted to work with me when I was originally buying my property. Luckily, I came across Seafords, and they agreed to take on my case, which was allocated to Merlin Batchelor. Merlin did a fantastic job supporting me throughout the entire process. He replied to my emails in a timely manner, offered additional help when needed, and advised me on the best way forward. The whole process took almost a year, but the delays were entirely caused by the freeholder trying to squeeze as much money from me as possible by confusing and delaying things, as well as an additional five-month delay caused by a surveyor who took my money and disappeared for five months. I am really pleased with the way Merlin handled everything, and I highly recommend Seafords if you need to do a lease extension.

I cannot recommend Sonal Rabheru highly enough. From start to finish, she has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Property transactions can be stressful at the best of times, and I’ll happily admit that I can be quite demanding and like things pushed along as quickly as possible. Used Michael Compton for what should have been a very simple service for an extraordinary cost compared to others solicitors. I heard nothing from him for a month despite repeated chasing, no work was carried out on my behalf and he significantly delayed the process causing what was already a very stressful time, even more stressful. Avoid.

It's difficult to put into words just how exceptional Jacqueline Batchelor is. The care, dedication and reassurance she gave us throughout our home purchase went far beyond what we ever expected, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. As first-time buyers, we naturally had lots of questions, but she was always available to help, explaining everything clearly and making sure we felt informed and confident throughout the process.
