I commissioned this company (Lincoln Branch) to complete conveyancing on a property sale. When the sale aborted their fees were, in my opinion, unreasonable given the overall work completed, their responsiveness and the value-add when buyers solicitors submitted questions that they had the information to answer, but simply passed to me to respond instead. We reached a more reasonable settlement for work completed and I paid. The house then sold again and I asked the estate agent to re-instruct Sills and Betteridge Lincoln. The target to complete was 4 weeks. 2 weeks in, I took it upon myself to seek an update on progress. At this point it emerged that they 'ignored' the estate agent instruction and would not handle my case - because I challenged them I was, in effect, blacklisted as a future client. I was not informed of this when we reached a resolution. Now I find myself 2 weeks in to the 4 week deadline with nothing done and having to find a new solicitor. Hopefully I will not lose the buyer. I am glad I challenged them in the first place though.

When I walked into sills & betteridge to meet Jessica, I felt sick with fear.
For 5 years I had been going through the family court system with the father of my children. He had always been believed and I felt powerless to protect my children.
Jessica, made me feel at ease during our 1 hour meeting. She helped me realise I could trust the legal system.
She sat and listened to me dredge up my fears and then supported me with forming a statement for the courts.
She supported me to find a wonderful barrister to represent me.
Jessica was on hand via email when I had any questions and answered them swiftly and professionally.
Before I went to sills & betteridge, I had no trust in family law.

Choosing this company will likely result in a significant waste of both time and money. Despite their initial enthusiasm in providing quotes, my experience spanned five months with no opportunity to engage with someone knowledgeable about laws. Communication was consistently with administrative staff who handled paperwork without competence. Every time I called, I was informed that the responsible person was on leave, and upon following up on their supposed return, they were still unavailable. Despite my requests for a refund over several months, there has been no response whatsoever.

Conveyancing - very thorough. Will not leave a stone unturned and will make sure everything is legal and all documents you'll ever need are obtained. Work fast and the very competitive price surprised me after I saw how much work was done.
Would recommend for anyone that would like all i's dotted and Ts crossed!
