Setfords acted as our conveyancer for a recent house purchase where we were the buyers. As always, there were occasional stormy seas, but I was satisfied that Naqibul Islam kept us informed throughout and was agile in finding solutions with us. I would work with them again.

I had the pleasure of working with Emma (S) for our recent sale and purchase. She was professional, thorough and an absolute pleasure to deal with with no detail overlooked. Our trust in Emma was extremely well placed and would have no hesitation in recommending Emma at Setfords for absolute peace of mind.
Laura at Setfords handled our move. Couldn't speak more highly of her. Not only did she manage our side of our sale and purchase, she also managed the other sellers and buyers solicitors ensuring our move went as smoothly as possible. Highly recommend.
AVOID. These are the worst solicitors we have ever used. No chain on either side, simple transaction that should have been done in a couple of months. They dragged it out so far that the seller backed out and we lost the purchase. Want to know how bad it is? They told us we needed legal advice, the legal advice we were paying them for! All cases are given to a junior and right at the last second are looked over by someone who knows what they are doing (or not in our case). I cannot stress to people enough to people who read this how bad this firm is. Shocking. Over £1,500 down and we lost the purchase because they messed around so much. Avoid! You have been warned....

We have had the most amazing experience working with Merlin on our recent sale & purchase. I used to work in the industry and a good solicitor is few and far between, but a great one, is exceptional. Merlin has been absolutely fantastic to work with from start to finish. He kept us updated throughout (even emailing us at 8pm in the evening and on Sundays!), was extremely knowledgeable and has genuinely restored our faith in the industry. Lili was extremely thorough and knowledgeable and wanted the best for us as first time buyers. I was able to contact her directly by telephone which was always extremely easy and she replied to my emails usually within the hour. Would recommend to anyone.

Sonia was with us on a 18 month journey which saw 5 house sales fall through due to certain planing conditions not been adhered by the owners or right of way on a property own driveway and numerous other issues that saw properties fall by the wayside but we have now moved this sale was completed within a 12 week period all has ended for the best.

I am currently still going through the court process for a driving offence but I cannot speak highly enough of Setfords in particular my solicitor Richard Hull. From Day 1 of speaking to him to where the process is now Richard has been clear, concise and most importantly reassuring about the whole process breaking down and explaining everything to me in detail at every step we get to. I have been an emotional wreck at times throughout and at all times Richard is a natural at calming me by simply explaining everything in a way I am able to understand and process. I still have a way to go but would absolutely not be who I am in this process if it wasn’t for Richard. I cannot recommend Setfords and Richard enough.
Peter and Tracy were fast and efficient and always available to answer questions during the sale of our home and subsequent acquisition of our new home, which had to be carried out quickly.

I cannot recommend Sonal Rabheru highly enough. From start to finish, she has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Used Michael Compton for what should have been a very simple service for an extraordinary cost compared to others solicitors. I heard nothing from him for a month despite repeated chasing, no work was carried out on my behalf and he significantly delayed the process causing what was already a very stressful time, even more stressful. Avoid.
