    Employment Settlement Agreement- Unfair Dismissal

    I instructed Slater Heelis to represent me during a settlement agreement following what I believed to be an unfair dismissal by my employer. From the very beginning, the solicitor (Sylviane Kokouendo) provided clear guidance, reassurance, and a strong understanding of employment law, which made a difficult situation far more manageable. The company’s initial offer was significantly below what was fair or reasonable. Sylviane took the time to understand the circumstances of my dismissal and used this information to negotiate firmly on my behalf. As a result, the final settlement was substantially improved compared to the original offer, reflecting a far more appropriate outcome. In particular, she successfully negotiated the following key improvements: • An increased ex gratia termination payment, ensuring the financial settlement better reflected the impact of the dismissal. • A higher contribution towards my legal fees, reducing my personal financial burden. • Inclusion of a reference clause, providing me with a fair and supportive reference for future employment. • Inclusion of outplacement support, which will assist me in transitioning to new employment opportunities. Throughout the process, communication was prompt, clear, and supportive. I felt fully informed at every stage, and her professionalism and negotiation skills made a meaningful difference to the final outcome. I would confidently recommend Slater Heelis especially Sylviane Kokouendo to anyone facing a similar situation.

    Avoid Avoid Avoid!... yes I googled for the best solicitors I could find after I needed a solicitor i could trust while divorcing my now ex wife! Who comes to my rescue... Aaron Williams, the only person I know that's lies more than my beloved ex... I've had to beg him to reply to emails.. phone calls... whatsapp messages, the man lied to me regarding sending documents to the court... which delayed my life!... yes I then reached out to him one last time copying several of the slaterheelis partners... who comes to my rescue... Mark Heptinstall, Aaron's leader.... as important as you think your life is... never ever think this guy is in your corner!... after admitting there was an internal investigation on Aaron which he clearly told me Aaron was at fault and had not fully given me full important information, and lied about sending the consent order to the court... he was worse to contact, always someone else is more important..because of this key dates were missed..which led to an ugly confrontation with my ex... he then gives me a large bill to pay for ASAP... but no explanation as to what it was for.... only when I confronted him he told me he would do no more work until it was paid...he states i refused to pay, when in actual fact I did not know what I was paying for!...no itemised bill at this point!...(just another lie)... oh, and his fee was over £100 more than Aaron’s, yes he back tracked on the fee, but only after i questioned this. I'm now back on medication for depression, this is nothing to do with my cheating ex that took me for a considerable amount of money... but these two individuals that clearly are the modern day dickturpins.... save yourself the same stress i unfortunately endured and avoid. I've explained to Mark Heptinstall I was to go through the complaints procedure with Slater Heelis then the ombudsman, his reply was i can do as i like...now that comment hurt!!....seems he's a man can clearly sleep well at night.... and to finish the review.... i ended up finishing my case on my own contacting my ex's solicitor... it took one day!... for any other Slaterheelis partners that may care..... I'm happy to forward all emails and messages!
