This is the 2nd time in 12 months we have worked with SB on a house sale with the latest being my late father’s property, and on both occasions their professionalism and delivery of service has been excellent. One of the main points for me is their communications with us, we have been kept updated at regular intervals and their follow up work is prompt and efficient. I would also like to personally thank Emma at Thorne SB, she is so helpful and her work has been so good. She has also been very understanding with this being a sale of our late fathers house, and even with her being on leave for the completion week she left instructions for the team at Thorne SB that ensured a smooth completion. I would definitely recommend SB and in particular the team at Thorne SB Branch.

I have tried everything within my power to avoid leaving a review, as this is not something I would normally do, nor have I ever felt the need to do so with any firm I have dealt with previously. However, after more than six months of dealing with this firm, I feel I have been left with no other choice but to share my experience. I am writing this in the hope that it may help even one person avoid the level of stress, anxiety and frustration that I have experienced throughout my time with this firm. I have received poor advice and ineffective strategies in relation to the cases they have been handling on my behalf. In my experience, this has resulted in unnecessary complications and additional costs, which I have ultimately been left responsible for, despite these costs arising from advice and decisions made by the firm. What has been particularly frustrating is the apparent lack of accountability when advice has proved to be incorrect or when strategies have simply not been fit for purpose. Rather than taking responsibility for mistakes or poor advice, I have felt that the consequences have repeatedly been passed back to me, both financially and practically. The situation has become so frustrating that I genuinely feel a sense of anxiety every time I receive an email from this firm, wondering what issue, mistake or complication I am going to have to deal with next. That is not how you should feel when you have entrusted a professional firm to handle important matters on your behalf. Communication has also been a major issue. I have experienced emails going unanswered, important information apparently being lost, calls not being returned and having to repeatedly chase for updates or responses. The lack of consistent communication has only added to an already stressful situation. The billing process has been another significant source of frustration. I have experienced what I believe to be incorrect charges, charges that I have disputed, and requests for payment for amounts that I believe had already been paid. Trying to understand and resolve billing issues has, in itself, become unnecessarily difficult and time consuming. I have given them so many chances to correct mistakes and get back on track including today calling into the office and requesting a call back to go through the issues only to get nothing (I called 4 hours ago). Unfortunately, based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend them at this point.

I have dealt with Sills & Betteridge Lincoln with conveyancing 3 times now and been both on the selling and buying end, and have to say their knowledge, efficiency, attention to detail and effectiveness are second to none. Even when dealing with difference circumstances (eg. putting property into a trust), they surpassed 2 other reputable solicitors contacted for quotes in their understanding (and the only ones to actually give us correct information!) Super quick to answer any emails, always same day (even out of hours) and always answer the phone and their wise advice has undoubtedly saved us a lot of money over the years. Centrally located office with plenty of customer parking which is also appreciated. Special shout out to Ellie Kilshaw and Ed Sharpe who have consistently gone above and beyond to fight our corner and deliver positive outcomes every time. Thank you both so much for all your help!

Having used Sills personally to complete a lease extension for an apartment, sell two properties and buy another they have been nothing but exemplary in their levels of service, communication and efficiency. Someone was always available to discuss my needs, offer great advice and keep me updated throughout every transaction.
