Anne was instrumental in the sale of a French property owned by my sister. However there were still issues in that tax was due and the French Bank Account was still open. As my sister's husband was ill she was unable to travel in order to close the bank account. Anne Hale was approached and offered a very kind, caring approach to get everything dealt with and the balance transferred into the UK account.

Absolutely terrible service. Ashton's were the bank appointed solicitor for a commercial mortgage I was setting up. The bank were slow but Ashton's were even slower and the mortgage ended up taking over a year to set up. With the fees I paid I would have expected at least some level of service. I will avoid having Ashton's involved with anything in the future.
We are sorry to read your comments and appreciate your frustrations. As we didn’t act for you on this matter, we are unable to fully respond to your feedback, other than to say our client has expressed no dissatisfaction with our service or the timeframe within which the work was completed.
Happy to review my rating but on current experience - on writing to the "CAMBRIDGE" Ashtons branch - to seek legal advice on a mortgage, email stipulating that we would have to come into sign a document. My case is transferred to Bury St Edmunds. On calling them and informing them (not to mention my address is already highlighted to them) - not convenient, a 1 hour 45 minute round journey to sign a document particularly as we both work and have a young family - not to mention we live in central Cambridge, less than a 10 minute cycle from the Cambridge office - informed "someone has left so short staffed" at the Cambridge office so we must travel to Bury St Edmunds to sign a document - and to take it or leave it! So on this shoddy service - I would not recommend.

Our move was across over 200 miles and as we are both in our 70’s now it felt very daunting. However, we had nothing to worry about. Abby was very efficient every step of the way, patiently explaining the process and keeping us calm. Ashton’s Legal are one of the most professional firms of solicitors we have dealt with. If Abby was not available another member of the team knew exactly what was happening. We felt in safe hands throughout the whole process even though it all had to be done remotely because we lived 200 miles away. We recently used Ashtons Legal for the purchase of our first home and couldn't be happier with the service we received. A special thank you to Kathryn Smith and Sienna Vincent, who were excellent throughout the entire process. They were responsive, efficient, professional and always willing to answer our questions, no matter how small. Communication was clear and timely, and they consistently kept pace with us whenever we needed information or decisions quickly. Buying a house can be stressful, and we'd heard plenty of horror stories from friends and family about conveyancing solicitors. It’s no exaggeration when I say that Ashtons Legal changed my life after I sustained a catastrophic traumatic brain injury aged 20. Ashtons was recommended to me by the PALS team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, and I reached out to them in early 2022 and the case concluded in mid 2026 due to its complexity. Thanks to the absolutely tenacious eye for detail that Mick Upton used in my case against the individual who injured me in a hit-and-run, and the ice cold professionalism and legal acumen that Marcus Grant presented against the insurance company who were the defendants in the case, I am now protected for the foreseeable future and have access to cutting edge care and financial advice outsourced to excellent advisors who also have a great eye for all things economic. Throughout the four-year process I was kept in the loop every step of the way. No stone was left unturned and nothing was left to chance - Mick Upton led from the front to secure me a settlement which is absolutely life changing and Marcus Grant was there to be the face of negotiation, assist and to provide crucial representation when it mattered most. Throughout it all there was a team of ferociously dedicated and committed executives, managers and assistants who formed the backbone of the case and provided their expert aid when I needed questions answered or needed to provide my own input. I would like to thank one of them, Louise Reardon, for being so kind, helpful and understanding when I found it difficult to complete forms or communicate effectively with the team. Her compassion was second to none, matched only by her ability to assist and offer guidance. For them this was another day at the office. For me, it was simply life changing and I cannot express my gratitude adequately in this review. If you need a personal injury team that fights tooth and nail for the best outcome, look no further. 10/10.
