I have been a client for around 20 years and have always been looked after by Amanda Smitherman. Amanda is very friendly and helpful, answering questions and explaining everything to me. Dear Sir/Madam, Formal Complaint – Failure to Provide a Quotation and Poor Communication I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from Ashtons Legal’s Bury St Edmunds office regarding a proposed commercial property transaction. Over a period of approximately two weeks, I contacted your office on three separate occasions to chase a quotation for the legal work associated with the purchase. On each occasion, your reception staff advised that they would escalate my concerns and ask the relevant team to contact me. Despite these assurances, I received no return call, quotation or meaningful update. A commercial property transaction requires prompt and dependable professional support. Having to repeatedly chase a firm simply to obtain an initial quotation gave me no confidence that my transaction would be handled with the necessary urgency or level of communication. As a result, I have decided to instruct one of your competitors. It is extremely disappointing that Ashtons Legal lost the opportunity to act for me, not because of the proposed fees or complexity of the transaction, but because nobody took the time to respond. Based on my experience, I could not recommend Ashtons Legal to anyone requiring a responsive and reliable legal service. Unless prospective clients have several months to spare and are prepared to continually chase for updates, they may be better advised to approach another firm. I would appreciate confirmation that this complaint has been recorded and reviewed by the appropriate person within the firm. Yours faithfully, Paul Hewett
