As first time buyers at a young age, myself and my partner didn’t really know where to start with the mortgage process. However Jess and the team at Sills & Betteridge were amazing from start to finish. They were so helpful, patient and supportive throughout, always happy to answer our questions and explain everything to us. They helped made what could’ve been a stressful and confusing process feel so much easier, and we’re really grateful for their help. We’d definitely recommend them to anyone buying their first home!

I cannot recommend Philippa highly enough; she was absolutely incredible when it came to negotiating and finalising my financial consent order. She was tenacious, determined, and an absolute force to be reckoned with when it came to protecting my interests and achieving a fair outcome. Philippa guided me through every step of the process, always providing clear and straightforward advice that was easy to understand. Her communication was consistently prompt and professional, and I never felt left in the dark about what was happening with my case. I also want to give a special mention to her Legal Aid, Rosie, who was equally fantastic. She was brilliant at keeping me updated, answering questions, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Having Philippa and Rosie in my corner made such a difference. I genuinely couldn't imagine having gone through this process with anyone else.

The sale of the property was a long drawn out process due to problems and delays further down the chain. The staff we dealt with Charlie and Alice kept us informed of progress and reasons for delays and frequently chased the other solicitors etc. I would not hesitate to use Sills and Betteridge again because I believe it was a good quality service at a fair price.

We were in the process of having 3 x Buy to Let properties purchased on the same day with the same lender. The date was fast approaching where if Completion did not take place - a new Mortgage Offer was required which would the process back the square one. Matthew at Sills & Betteridge pulled out all the stops to ensure that not only did the 3 x Mortgage Completions happened before the Mortgage Offer Expirey Date, but they were 2 x days ahead of schedule. Matthew never let us down, worked tirelessly and quietly in the background and then called us to sign the Legal Documents. At all times he was kind, polite, friendly, helpful and so reassuring throughout the whole process. We have never used Sills & Betteridge prior to these 3 x Transactions, but we most certainly will use them again in the future and we are giving Sills & Betteridge telephone number to our family and friends. I would 100% recommend Sills & Betteridge for your Property transactions - they most definitely won't let you down.

Very efficient

Do not use this firm for anything relating to child proceedings. I used this firm for legal action regarding custody of my son. Over 2 years it went on for. Being charged through the nose for shoddy half done work. They completely misinformed me of my rights and what I could have challenged in the courts. They rinsed me of £15,000 with absolutely nothing to show for it in the end. It wasn't until I took on a barrister in the end to which she notified me it was the poorest work she had seen in 30 years of being a barrister specialising in family courts. By this time the damage had been done. The forms and paperwork filled out were incorrect with the wrong names and dates of birth. The work they provided was nothing short of complete incompetence and shoddy. When you complain they don't want to know and refuse to acknowledge your complaint. 2 years on I'm still fighting through the legal ombudsman as told to by my barrister. There is a lot more I could write but what's the point. They've ruined my life and taken no accountability for it. They would turn up 40 minutes late to court and still charge you for it. Shocking. Incompetent. Shoddy unbothered solicitors. Avoid if you want any chance of winning a custody battle.

I would highly recommend Sills & Betteridge. I recently dealt with Team Amy while purchasing two properties at the same time and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better service. I had already instructed another firm for one of the purchases before I came across Sills & Betteridge, so I was dealing with both firms at the same time. The difference was very noticeable. The quote was very reasonable, but what really impressed me was how quick, efficient and helpful Team Amy were throughout the whole process. They always responded so quickly to any questions I had and kept everything moving, which made the whole experience much easier. A special mention to Uros and Eve as well, who were both brilliant. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional and really helpful. I’m genuinely very pleased with the service I received from Sills & Betteridge and would definitely recommend them. Thank you to the whole team for all your help.
