A highly professional and competent firm of solicitors. My Medical negligence claim was handled with compassion and sensitivity at all times. All aspects of the legal process were explained fully and communication was easy to understand and addressed in a timely fashion. Michael Frape of Ashtons Legal provided excellent service in handling a professional negligence claim for me. The claim was very important to me, and Michael did a highly diligent and thorough job of putting together and pursuing the initial stages of the claim, with the appropriate level of attention to detail, always dealing with the case personally. Michael adapted his fees to reflect the nature and size of the case. Michael was then forced to relinquish the case on grounds of the economics, but he gave time in completing the final stage before the handover to my new solicitor and did everything he could to ensure that went smoothly. Eventually a settlement of the case was obtained and I will always be grateful for Ashtons Legal's part in this.

The case was regarding a buisiness bankruptcy, not mine but resulting in a claim on my family home. I later discovered the solicitor I chose was inexperienced and not able to appear in court hearings. I was advised to use a barrister to represent me in the first of several hearings. It turned out to be in the wrong court so was dismissed. The barrister had to apologise to the judge for not being aware of new rules. I had to pay Ashtons the fee for that day amounting to approx. £2,400. My first instruction had been to keep my address abroad confidential, this was breached later as the case progressed. The opposing solicitors were calling the shots, my solicitor seemed in awe of them and even had to have them explain various points of law to her. The case dragged on for 18 months. The final insult was after the forced sale of my house. The final bill from Ashtons included an item ' Probate Fee' ( no one had died and this service was not required) I surmised it had been added to cover part of the final bill. In fact I did intend to withhold the payment until I could put forward my complaint. My house was sold for a fraction of the market value and 50% of the proceeds given to bankruptcy receivers. I put forward my complaint to a senior partner but it was not exactly a robust procedure, a panel of partners looked at it, I noticed one had the same surname as my solicitor . The points I mention here were not addressed. The breach of confidentiality, the Billing for an aborted court hearing, and false item of service which did not exist. I would not recommend this firm to anyone. My life savings were used up in legal fees amounting to 14k.

I came to Ashtons with a complex partnership dispute, and Michael Frape made all the difference. He is calm, clear and relentless, and he kept me steady through the stressful stretches by always explaining the reasoning behind his advice. He held firm on the points that counted, never overcomplicated things, and was genuinely sensitive to how much was riding on this for me and my family. He cared about the outcome in a real way. The rest of my dealings with the firm were a touch uneven, but Michael was first rate throughout, and he is the reason I would send anyone facing something similar his way. With heartfelt thanks.

Just sold a property with Ashton/Lauren acting on my behalf. Sale was a messy affair with buyer making demands, threats to pull out and at one stage just disappearing for few weeks. Lauren/Ashton legal kept me informed of all progress and managed to untie this knot of vipers. One of the most stand out feature is ease of access to communicate. I had email, office location and even phone number so any concerns could be sorted quickly and efficiently Lastly there was clear and direct communication between Ashton, estate agent and myself. Thank you too all staff at Ashton legal and to Lauren in particular. Ashtons have always granted the needed results and you bring credit to the firm.
