Injury sustained at end of October 2021 and resolved August 2025 so it was a long haul. The solicitor was friendly. approachable and supportive throughout. I felt that his legal knowledge and expertise was brilliant and that I was in safe hands. I was never very clear about the communication channels between the loss adjuster, the third party appointed by the loss adjuster, the solicitor and myself but I think any difficulty there was more about a change in loss adjuster with new working practices to deal with. I do think it would be helpful to have a provisional timeline at the outset to enable clients to understand the process. The patient approach adopted by the solicitor allowed for the costs involved in a second operation to be included.

Ashtons Legal supported with buying my first home (new build). Experience was very positive throughout and all staff were happy to support, quick to respond (when others were out of office) and knowledgeable. We chose to go with Ashtons Legal as there was a Cambridge office and there were a fair few good reviews. The experience we have had with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. Our case got assigned to someone at the Bury St Edmunds office - which was fine as due to COVID most stuff would be done through emails anyway. When we were given a case handler, we were told he would be in touch but we did not hear from them at all until we chased them 4 weeks after and had to call around the offices to get any form of contact. There was terrible lack of communication, with us never getting replies until we chase on emails and calls. We were told things had been done and then further down the line it was admitted that they hadn’t been done. Our process has taken 26 weeks and we still haven’t completed yet. Our case handler went off and we were not informed by him until the night before that he was going. We submitted a formal complaint and the Partner then took on our case, he did get things moving quicker at that point but it took a formal complaint for this to happen and so far we have been offered no form of compensation for the stress and uncertainty this has caused. Communication is key in processes like this and we personally feel like Ashtons Legal have nowhere near provided the services we should’ve received, especially for the money we are paying.
We are sorry to read this, it certainly isn’t typical of the service we provide. As a firm, we strive to provide a positive experience for all of our clients. Your matter is due to complete shortly and our client care partner will promptly address the issues that you have experienced.
They are responsive even under the present circumstances, and respond to queries. They work ways to try to keep the costs economic.

Anne was instrumental in the sale of a French property owned by my sister. However there were still issues in that tax was due and the French Bank Account was still open. As my sister's husband was ill she was unable to travel in order to close the bank account. Anne Hale was approached and offered a very kind, caring approach to get everything dealt with and the balance transferred into the UK account.

It’s no exaggeration when I say that Ashtons Legal changed my life after I sustained a catastrophic traumatic brain injury aged 20. Ashtons was recommended to me by the PALS team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, and I reached out to them in early 2022 and the case concluded in mid 2026 due to its complexity. Thanks to the absolutely tenacious eye for detail that Mick Upton used in my case against the individual who injured me in a hit-and-run, and the ice cold professionalism and legal acumen that Marcus Grant presented against the insurance company who were the defendants in the case, I am now protected for the foreseeable future and have access to cutting edge care and financial advice outsourced to excellent advisors who also have a great eye for all things economic. Throughout the four-year process I was kept in the loop every step of the way. No stone was left unturned and nothing was left to chance - Mick Upton led from the front to secure me a settlement which is absolutely life changing and Marcus Grant was there to be the face of negotiation, assist and to provide crucial representation when it mattered most. Throughout it all there was a team of ferociously dedicated and committed executives, managers and assistants who formed the backbone of the case and provided their expert aid when I needed questions answered or needed to provide my own input. I would like to thank one of them, Louise Reardon, for being so kind, helpful and understanding when I found it difficult to complete forms or communicate effectively with the team. Her compassion was second to none, matched only by her ability to assist and offer guidance. For them this was another day at the office. For me, it was simply life changing and I cannot express my gratitude adequately in this review. If you need a personal injury team that fights tooth and nail for the best outcome, look no further. 10/10.
